Do you Act? Sing? Do you want to act or sing?
Pleasure Dome Theatre Company are delighted to be returning to the Valley of Rocks this summer with a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Expect magic, madness and mayhem as we bring this family favourite to Nature's Greatest Stage!
We will be holding open auditions at Lynton Town Hall on Friday the 10th of April to find local performers who would like to be a part of this production. There are two sessions:10:00-1:00 and 2:00-5:00. These will be informal work-shop style auditions where we will do some text work, some physical work and some music from the show. We hope that it should be a fun and enjoyable way into our process and as much an opportunity for prospective performers to see whether this is a project, they’d like to be part of, as it is to help us cast.
You must have good availability on the weekends of June the 26th, 27th, 28th, July the 11th, 12th and 13th then from the 21st of July (although we do work around any NOs,) but must be completely free in the evenings for the run opening on the 28th of July till the 8th of August performing every night other than Monday with Sunday matinées. Working at the Valley of Rocks is tiring but we hope to provide a valuable and exciting experience as well.
Here is what a cast member said of our 2019 show:
"From the moment I stepped into the audition room, I knew I wanted to be a part of the production. Scott and Helena made everyone feel equally at home in the auditions, the rehearsal room and on the stage. They take any self-doubt you may have and replace it with confidence, they remove fear and replace it with the desire to deliver your absolute best and reward the audiences with epic theatre. Pleasure Dome Theatre Company don’t just ‘stage’ plays, they play with the stage - taking the tangible elements that Mother Nature provides and combining them with such delicate craftsmanship behind the scenes. If you audition for one play this year, it has to be Pleasure Dome Theatre Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream." Nayomie
If this sounds like something you’d relish, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and specify which session, morning or afternoon you want to attend. We really look forward to hearing from you. Helena Payne, Creative Director.
